INSTRUCTOR We are delighted to have Dana D. as our ceramics camp teacher this summer! Dana is an enthusiastic, dedicated school art teacher. She graduated from San Francisco Art Institute with B.A. in Fine Arts, Printmaking. She received her secondary education teaching credential program in art. She is skillful in teaching on a diversity of art projects - including ceramics, printing-making, stain glass, paper art, fabric art and more.
AGE GROUP 7 - 15. Age groups might be separated by work stations and lesson plans.
CERAMIC-MAKING PROCEDURE Students learn techniques to make a few projects from damped or wet clay on the first few days. It takes a few days for ceramic works to dry (moisture in the air and size of works determine how long it takes to dry). It take two firing to finish work. Then it take at least one class or more to glaze (color) works. One week can be too rush to finish projects.
* Pottery wheels entail advanced skills; they are recommended for advanced students only.
SESSIONS
Due
to ceramics-making process, two-weeks enrollment is encouraged yet
not required. Students might or might not have enough time to glaze
(color) works in one week (it depends on humidity in air, size of
works and each students' progress). In that case, students can take
drop-in ceramics camp ($50 per half-day) to glaze works. Other than that, ceramics camp do not accept drop-in students on daily basis due to ceramics process it takes.
HOW TO ENROLL
1. Please fill out the online application form (existent or returning students can email us weeks and camp you enroll instead)
2. Please make full payment by Paypal or credit cards (reservation is based on payment received)
